SSDs on the cheap from Intel and Kingston, your netbook will thank you
Jan 14th
One of the easiest ways to bump the speed of your netbook is to replace the hard drive from the platter-based HDD to a flash-based SSD. It gives you a speedier boot as well as faster application launching to keep its performance at par with your main computer.
Kingston announced that they will be including a cheaper, smaller SSD under the Kingston SSDNow V+ line. The SSD will be 2.5″ 30GB and will give you 180MB/s read speed and 50MB/s write speed. It’s going to be available in February and will be just $79.99 after rebates.
Intel is also offering a smaller capacity 40GB SSD under their X25-V Value line. It has a slower speed (170MB/s read, 35MB/s write) but it is already available now for ordering. You can grab it at Amazon for around $120.

Samsung’s All In One PCs Looks Stunningly Beautiful and Thin!
Jan 14th
We don’t normally cover all-in-one PCs here at Eee PC Blog especially if it’s not from Asus or Acer (don’t ask me why, it’s just the way things are). But then, Samsung’s latest all-in-one PCs that were just launched in Korea are too beautiful not to report about it.
If you’re planning to get an all-in-one PC, you might want to any of these three Samsung products – MU100, MU200 and MU250. Both MU100 and MU200 are 20-inchers but the MU200 has HD level resolution. The MU250 on the hand offers a 23-inch full HD display.
Brief rundown of the specs of each of these LCD Monitors are as follow:
MU100 : Intel Atom N450, 2GB of RAM, 320GB of HDD, Intel GMA 3150, DVD Super Mulit, Windows 7 Home Premium
MU200 : Intel Pentium T4400, 2GB of RAM, 320GB of HDD, GeForce G310 with 512MB of VRAM, DVD Super Multi, Windows 7 Home Premium
MU250 : Intel Core 2 Duo T6600, 3GB of RAM, 500GB of HDD, GeForce G310 with 512MB of VRAM, DVD Super Multi, Windows 7 Home Premium
And before I forgot, just like other Samsung LCD products, these three new babies are ultra-thin and sports the same shiny look of most Samsung LCD TVs and LCD Monitors.
Hopefully, Samsung release this to the market.

Marvell EBOX Could be the Tiniest PC You’d Ever See
Jan 14th
Spotted by Brad of Liliputing during the CES 2010 was this EBOX PC loaded with Marvell Armada 510 processor. Actually, our kudos goes out to Brad for spotting the tiny PC because judging by its size from what we are seeing from its photos, this EBOX is indeed tiny. Almost like the size of the iPhone. So, who would have thought that it is actually a PC?
The EBOX on display at CES was connected to a big screen LCD and it was running Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala. But what’s interesting is that despite its size, this tiny beast can handle 1080p HD video playback. How’s that possible?
Anyway, the EBOX is running its OS on an SD Card since it’s too small to fit in a HD inside.
The EBOX would have been the tiniest PC to date if only it is already a finished product. But it seems though that it is still a prototype. Hopefully, whoever is responsible for this tiny would put it up for production. It would certainly be an interesting gadget to have and to hold.
