ASUS Eee PC 1015PEM Is The First Dual Core Atom N550 Netbook On The Block

ASUS has beat everyone to the punch when it comes to shoving that dual core Atom N550 (1.5 GHz) into a netbook and will very shortly be releasing the ASUS Eee PC 1015PEM which is basically a 1015PE with the dual core processor.
The ASUS Eee PC 1015PEM will have a 10.1″ 1024 x 600 display, 1 – 2GB DDR3 RAM, 250GB HDD, GMA 3150 graphics, support 720p (I guess that means out of the box, and Flash) and come in four colors – red, black, white and pink. Price is 349 euros and it should be available somewhere in Europe any day now and in Singapore from next week. (Update: ASUS UK tweeted an October release)
ASUS Eee PC 1015N To Launch In September?

The next big thing in netbooks, after Nvidia ION 2 and Optimus technology, must surely be dual core processors – not desktop / nettop based ones but ones specifically for netbooks that need good battery life like the upcoming Atom N550 processor. One product confirmed with this processor is the ASUS Eee PC 1015N which we saw at Computex 2010.
No word on a release date back then but a post from Digitimes has an ASUS roadmap which shows a dual core Atom N550 10-inch netbook will be launched in September 2010, priced at $399. Sounds like the Eee PC 1015N to me.
A few other products are mentioned in this roadmap, of which we just heard about the other day. The 12-inch Eee Pad (should have Android but Windows Embedded Compact 7 is listed) will launch in either December or January next year priced at around $1,000, a 10-inch Eee Pad with Android will launch next year in March for under $399 and a 8.9-inch Eee Note with an ARM processor and Linux OS will launch in October priced at $199 – $299.
