Since Sony VAIO P was unveiled, its stylish design on a small enclosure has been loved by the Shanzhai players. We’ve seen several Sony VAIO P alike netbooks from them in the past several months that were labeled as ’pocket netbook’. Shenzhen manufacturer Malata’s new netbook is just another one of these netbooks. Besides the Sony VAIO P stye, which is definitely the biggest selling point, Malata A802 comes with a 1.6Ghz Atom N270 processor, integrated GMA 950 Graphics, a 8.9-inch 1024X600 resistive touchscreen, along with a chocolate keyboard, a trackpoint, and handwriting recognition for your input, 1GB RAM, 16GB hard drive, 1.3-megapixel webcam, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, 3300mAh battery with 3 hours working time, Windows 7 Home basic OS, with weight of 1kg, and dimensions of 25.6cm(L)×14.3cm(W)×3.0cm(H). The 16GB hard drive no doubt is too small, so a 160GB mobile hard drive is packed with the netbook. The price is 3999 Yuan ($588 USD). Well, for such a price we can only say at least it’s not more expensive than Sony VAIO P.

Last time I heard a peep out of Chinese PC maker teclast, the company was showing an NVIDIA ION-equipped netbook at Computex last summer. But it looks like Teclast ain’t a one hit-or-miss wonder. Zol spotted a new 10 inch netbook from the company called the Teclast X8.
The Teclast X8 is rather unremarkable in the specs department. It has a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU, 10.2 inch, 1024 x 600 pixel display. 1GB of RAM, and 160GB hard drive. It’s cpaable of running Windows XP or Windows 7, and has WiFi and a 1.3MP webcam.
Possibly the most interesting aspects are the slightly curved case, a touchpad which appears to have razor-thin buttons on the left and right sides, and the computer’s relatively light weight of just about 2.3 pounds.
The Teclast X8 sells for about 2499 yuan, or $366 US.
