Dual-touchscreen prototype netbook shown by MSI with Windows 7
Jan 9th

What was initially reported as a dual-screened e-book reader has now turned out to be a dual-touchscreen tablet prototype, showcased by none other than MSI at CES in Las Vegas. The prototype shown by MSI at the electronics expo features double 10-inch 1024×600 touchscreens and runs Windows 7, which should make it an excellent tablet PC once it does hit retail stores. The device is still pending approval though, if those who manage to get a look at and handle it during its appearance at CES convince MSI that it’s an OK product to release.

Sony Unleash the Eco Friendly Vaio W Netbook
Jan 7th
It’s now Sony’s turn to announce their latest netbook at the CES 2010, and it’s the new Sony Vaio W Eco Edition. Yes folks, Sony decided to make its netbook different once again but it doesn’t have to do with processing performance since all Intel Pine Trail netbooks are practically at par with each other anyway.
So, Sony takes the more relevant eco path with the Sony Vaio W. And why is this environment-friendly? – Bright, clear mercury-free display with LED backlight, recycled plastic parts, electronic manual, innovative carry-bag that saves 10% CO2 emissions are the reasons why Sony is calling this netbook eco-friendly.
Of course, Sony machines are known for their elegant design. So, to make this new Vaio W netbook Sony made its body white while the palm rest in mint green finish – probably to send the message that this is a green machine.
The Sony VAIO W netbook will be available starting February 2010. Like in the past, expect this to come out with a very “special price.”

MSI Wind U135 priced €299 in Europe
Dec 22nd

The MSI Wind U135 netbook, which runs on an Intel Atom N450 Pineview processor, has been priced at €299 in Europe. For the price, you get the MSI Wind U135 in all its Pinetrail Atom platform glory, a bundled 6-cell battery, Windows 7 Starter Edition and a 2-year “Pick-Up and Return” warranty. It looks like it’s business as usual for MSI with this particular netbook, though I’m sure some of you are currently more interested in learning more about its shinier, seemingly higher-end sibling, the MSI Wind U160. Keep it here for upcoming updates.
