Unboxing Video of Kojinsha DZ Dual Screen Netbook
Dec 12th
The Kohjinsha DZ netbook is pretty exciting because of one major reason – it has dual screen. It is currently available in Japan and can be exported through Conics.com. And guess what a site called WowPow.com has gotten hold of one unit, unboxed and put up an unboxing video for all of us to appreciate the beauty of Kohjinsha’s DZ dual-screen netbook.
According to Wow-Pow, the Kohjinsha netbook weighs around 4 pounds and runs up to 4.5 hours. What’s interesting about this netbook aside from its dual-screen is that there are two RAM slots inside for upgrading the RAM up to 4GB, an easily replaceable hard drive, and a USB peripheral probably for putting in WiMAX or 3G adapter.
Kohjinsha DZ dual-screen netbook goes out for around $1016. That’s the price you have to pay for having a netbook with two screens.
So here’s the unboxing videos done by Wow-Pow.

Onkyo to Release a Convertible PC with Dual-Screen
Dec 10th
Japanese PC maker Onkyo took Kojinsha’s dual-screen netbook seriously and decided to rebrand and repackaged it as their own. Hence the birth of the Onkyo DX1007A5. Aside from increasing its market price, Onkyo also improved the netbook’s screen resolution from the Kojinsha’s 1024×600 to 1366×768. That’s full HD display capability for you folks.
In addition, Onkyo also spikes up the netbook’s specs a bit, so you’ll now have a 2GB of RAM and 320GB HDD. Onkyo’s version of the dual-screen netbook also doesn’t support 1-Seg Digital TV. This maybe bad news for our Japanese friends but certainly good news for us. Why? Because there’s a slim chance that the reason why Onkyo did not include the said feature is because it won’t be useful to international users anyway.
So, this could mean that there’s probably a slim chance that Onkyo might release this internationally or somebody else will pick it up from Onkyo.
Other specs of the Onkyo DZ1007A5 dual-screen netbook include – Athlon Neo MV-40 1.6GHz CPU, RS780MN chipset, ATI Radeon HD 3200 graphics card, WiFi, 3 USB ports, 1.3MP webcam, Bluetooth and multi-card reader. It is also running Windows 7 Home Premium.
Price point is pegged at $950 which is actually $55 more than Kohjinsha netbook’s price.
