Eee PC 1201N Reviewed and Found Wanting

A few reviews for the recently on sale 12-incher from Asus have been coming in and while there are good points to be considered, it also seems to be lackluster in performance compared to similiarly priced CULV units.
As from our previous post, the specs combine both a dual core Atom with NVIDIA Ion for better graphics as well as a bigger screen that’s already bordering on notebook size. The battery life suffers though and the $499 price point is just a few bills short of a well performing CULV-based notebook. It’s kind of confused if it wants to be netbook with better video and gaming capabilities or a lightweight notebook alternative.
We’ll probably know more once they get into the hands of the public and see how it goes.
