Chalk up another notch for the availability of HD netbooks – well, if you live in Japan that is. Mouse Computer has just announced and launched the Luvbook M series netbook which features a 720p 1280 x 720 10.1″ display and some higher end specs not normally seen on your average netbook.

The base model, priced at 39,800 yen (sub $300) has run of the mill specs: Atom N450 processor, 1GB RAM, 120GB HDD and Windows XP Home. The higher end model, priced at 49,980 yen (under $400), gets 2GB RAM, 320GB HDD and Windows 7 Home Premium. There’s a 40GB Intel X25-V SSD model that adds an additional $100 over the high end model.

Other specs: 2x USB 2.0, Ethernet, 802.11b/g/n Wi-FI, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, VGA, card reader, 1.3MP webcam and audio jacks. 3-cell battery lasts 3.25 hours. Weighs 1.03 kg or 1.01 kg for the SSD model.

No idea if there’s any possiblity of inserting a Broadcom HD Crystal Accelerator card inside.
