Kindle for PC Looks Great on an Eee PC with Eee Rotate
In case you haven’t heard the news, Amazon has just released its Kindle for PC software. This free sofware mimics the same functionality as the Kindle series of ebook readers, and the Kindle for iPhone. It features Amazon’s Whispernet technology, and synchronizes the different devices you use to read Kindle books.
Now here’s the best part, since you won’t probably use Kindle for PC running on your desktop or ordinary laptop just so you can have a portable ebook reading device – what would be the most appropriate machine to use the Kindle for PC then?
Alright, I know you knew the answer – the Eee PC of course. If you still haven’t thrown away your Eee PC 701, you can now turn it into an ebook reader instead of gathering dusts in your storage bin.
The Kindle has 6-inch display, the Eee PC 701 has well 7-inch screen. So, the 1-inch difference doesn’t matter at all when it comes to reading books.
But how about portrait mode reading? The Eee PC certainly doesn’t have that capability. Well, actually you can make this possible. All you need to do is to install the Eee Rotate add-on we told you not so long ago. Install the application and then rotate your Eee PC’s screen – presto, you have a WiFi enabled ebook reader that’s almost as big as the Kindle U.S. and International Edition. Minus the greyscale display rendering of course.
