RoBe:Do autonomous robots controlled by netbooks
The robot makers at RoBe:Do have set their eyes on netbooks as with the introduction of two of its latest projects, Coppa and Silvio. These two robots are fully-assembled upon delivery to their prospective owners and will have a dock to accomodate netbooks such as the Asus Eee PC for controls. In this instance, the netbook will be the robot’s brain as it trumps around with its own mechanics, 12V rechargeable battery, autofocus webcam and built-in sonar system. The netbook brain connects via USB, and the robots offer users the option for further customization. Pricing for the RoBe:Do Coppa, $1,649, while the Silvio costs $1,449.
