Q2 of 2009 before we see new Asus netbooks
Jan 26th
While Asus may have been showing off a range of new netbooks over the past few weeks, we won’t be seeing any of these products until the second quarter. Asus are facing a variety of issues which has resulted in their profit forecasts being lowered.
Q4 of 2008 proved to be a disappointing time for Asus with sales down, unfavourable exchange rates and inaccurate pricing strategies. Analysts predict that due to the move from 8.9 inch netbooks to 10 inch netbooks, the gross margin for Eee PC is expected to be weak during the first quarter. These concerns arise from the aggressive pricing strategy of HP and Acer.
Asus plan to tackle their inventory problems and bring it back under control before netbooks, laptops and other EeePC series products are released.

Samsung NC10 9-cell battery unboxing photos showcased
Jan 26th

So you’ve heard of the Samsung NC10’s 9-cell battery? I’m sure you’re looking forward to seeing it in action, and finding out just how much more battery life it gives to the already long lasting Samsung NC10. Well, the time for that isn’t now, because no one’s done a detailed benchmark of battery life using it yet and posted it on the Internet (and we were unsuccessful in ordering one ourselves), but you can see several unboxing photos if you so like it. As you might have guessed it was delivered boxed tight from the eBay seller, and you can see it unboxed in all its glory via the link below.
