Asus to Release the Eee Box B201 with SSD
Dec 31st
When Asus released the first model of its Eee Box, it has all the standard features of the Eee PC – Atom CPU and Hard Disk Storage. Then later on it released two HD-capable Eee Boxes – the B204 and B206. After that, another Eee Box was released, this time with the Celeron CPU instead of the Atom and this was called the B203.
Well, before it introduces more Eee Boxes followiny the B206, it’s a good thing Asus thought of coming out with the Eee Box B201 first. This time, the said nettop aside from having the Celeron CPU will also have an integrated 16GB SSD. But don’t fret since, you can have the option of having additional storage either through the Asus Eee Storage online or an optional 160GB HDD.
Other features of the B201 are pretty much the standard features you’d usually get from the other previous models of the Eee Box.
No words yet on pricing and release details.

EMTEC to Release a 10-inch Gdium Netbook Soon
Dec 31st
Remember the Gdium Netbook from EMTEC? Well, it may have failed in making a significant splash in the netbook market with its previous machine but it certainly is not giving up. The company was reportedly planning to release a 10-inch Gdium netbook as early as January (Ops, that means its anytime this month in some parts of world).
EMTECT is introducing this 10-inch Gdium netbook during the CES happening next week. It will be powered by Linux and would contain a plethora of open source software and a bootable USB key wherein the Linux OS, applications and personal data will be stored.
The 10-inch Gdium netbook will be available in black, white and pink design and will have a price tag of $400.

RunCore SSD’s Available for Shipping
Dec 31st

RunCore have announced that their new SSD line up is now ready for shipping.
The “Low Cost Zif PATA” 1.8 inch SSD range includes a 16GB, a 32GB,a 64GB, and 128GB units and the cost of each unit, respectively is $69.99, $119.99, $199.99 and $389.99 for the 128GB SSD. Considering the possible performance of these drives, the price would seem reasonable.
In February the 2.5 inch 256GB Pro III Hyper Speed SATA SSD will be available too and will cost a whopping $699.99, not as low cost as the Zif PATA range, clearly but, with decent read and write rates of 230MB/sec and 150MB/sec, the price could be forgiven.
Jkkmobile have the drives in for testing so more news on performance will be on the way.
