Is Asus Preparing to Launch another Eee PC 1000 Variant?
Oct 27th

We really got to give credit for Blogeee.net for always coming out with breaking and exclusive news when it comes to the Eee PC and other netbooks. The latest scoop gathered by the site is about Asus nth Eee PC product which is coming out, well we guess, anytime soon – the Eee PC 1002HA.
From what we gather from the translated French post, the Eee PC 1002HA appears to be an upscaled version of the recently released Eee PC 1001HA which incidentally sports almost the same design as the upcoming Eee PC S101.
The Eee PC1002HA would have a 2-cell battery to effect a smaller size, a 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor, 1GB of RAM, and 160GB of HDD.
The said netbook’s price would probably be at around $559. No release date and other pertinent details are available though.

Dell Takes on the Eee PC S101 with its Inspiron Mini 12
Oct 27th

Dell has just introduced a follow-up to the Inspiron Mini 9, this time with a 12-inch display screen – the Dell Inspiron Mini 12. Before you even think that the 12-inch screen size is enough reason to categorize this netbook into an ultraportable standard notebook, think again, because despite its big screen by netbook standard, the Inspiron Mini 12’s other specs still belong to the netbook family.
The Dell Inspiron Mini 12 will have the following specs:
- 12.1-inch WXGA display (1280×800 resolution)
- Intel Atom Processor
- 1GB RAM
- Choice of 60GB or 80GB Hard Drive
- Built-in Bluetooth and 802.11 b/g wireless
- 2.72 lbs, 0.92-inches thick
- Windows Vista OS
The Dell Inspiron Mini 12 will also offer support and access to Dell’s after sales services such as; Dell support Center, DellConnect Remote Assistance, DellDock software.
Although available now for retail in Japan, the Dell Inspiron Mini 12 will most likely hit online stores sometime in November.
And guess how much this netbook baby will retail? Just around $600. Definitely cheaper than the Eee PC S101.

HP Preps Up the Mini 1000, the Mini Note 2133’s Big Brother
Oct 27th

Granted the HP Mini 1000 and Mini Note 2133 bears the same “Mini” branding, these product page for the HP Mini 1000 might well be the much anticipated follow-up to HP’s 8.9 netbook. While everybody else who have launched smaller netbooks, have also upgraded their netbooks’ screen sizes to 9-10 inch and powered it up with Intel Atom processor a long time ago, HP seems to be doing it now.
But that is if the HP Mini 1000 would actually be marketed as a netbook, and would have two important specs of most netbooks today – bigger display screen and Atom CPU.
Unfortunately, the HP product page doesn’t say too much about the Mini 1000 except for
- Starting price of $399
- 2.25 pounds
- Under 1-inch in thickness
Other than these, we’re guessing that the display screen would actually be bigger than 8.9-inch.
