Asustek’s Eee Family to Have a Mother, Motherboard that is
Oct 13th
There’s really no stopping Asustek from ever expanding its Eee product line. The last of member of the Eee Family which Asustek quietly slipped out a couple of days ago into the market was the Eee Monitor, which is now called the Eee Top.
Now, Digitimes is reporting that Asustek is also keen on adding an Eee Motherboard which is slated for a first quarter release in 2009. There’s not much detail available yet for this motherboard, although we suspect that there would probably nothing special about it, except of course for the Eee branding.
Relatedly, Asustek has also issued an official statement regarding the previously reported virus found on some Eee Box system in Japan. Results of their investigation showed that the virus was transferred bia a USB drive that was usef for system testing and inspection. But the incident was of course limited only in Japan and other countries were not infected by the said virus.
