CTL Preps Up its Own 2Go PC Nettop
Aug 31st
Remember CTL? The company who brought us the 2Go PC netbook and the IL1 netbook. Words on the streets had it that they are prepping up a nettop version of their 2Go PC. And to possibly compete with the likes of the MSI Wind Nettop and Eee PC Box, the 2Go PC Nettop is also coming up with an Intel Atom CPU. Aside from this, it will also pack in 1GB of Kingston DDR2 RAM, GMA 950 graphics accelerator, HDD and one optical drive, six USB ports and an Ethernet jack.
The basic 2Go PC Nettop will price in for around $199 Essential Plus edition with Ubuntu OS and 80GB 7,200RPM HD while an Essential Performance Edition will price in at around $299 with Windows XP, 160GB HD and 1GB of RAM.
Release date for the 2Go PC Nettop is still unannounced though.

HiVision roll out fake notebooks
Aug 31st
Shenzhen HiVision have been ‘rumbled’. Engadget managed to grab a few photos of some dodgy looking netbooks that the Chinese manufacturer are producing.
There are clearly a variety of fake models on offer including a HP Mini Note look-a-like.
Fortunately, these fakes aren’t available outside of China right now, where they should sell very well and hopefully that’s how it will stay.
