HCL MiLeap MH 04 coming to India
Aug 25th
Indian netbook buyers have something to look forward to as computer company HCL has vowed to bring the MSI Wind to Indian shores but, it will be packaged as the “MiLeap MH 04″. HCL are hoping to maximise on the appeal of netbooks and to enhance their range which includes lower end laptops and a high end mini tablet PC.
HCL currently produce the MiLeap S, L, and X series of laptops which are low cost, priced from under $330 for this basic low end, 900Mhz Celeron laptop and the MiLeap V Series which is a mini tablet running Vista on a 7 inch display (same size as the MiLeap S,L and X series but with higher screen resolution). The V series costs $820.
The MiLeap MH04/MSI WInd that HCL are introducing in India will use the Atom CPU (1.6GHz) and will come with a decent sized hard drive at 80gb and 1gb of memory. The display will be 10.2 inches with a good resolution of 1024×600 pixels.
The cost of a MiLeap MH04 will be Rs. 24,999 which converts to roughly US$585.

Anyway here’s what we could get from the source as to the eCafe Hercules specs:

- 512 MB RAM upgradeable up 1.5GB
- 8-inch monitor (1024×600)
- Linux OS
- 20 GB hard drive
- Built-in sound card
- Card reader

The eCafe Hercules netbook will be available in Europe sometime in September with an SRP of around $441. No words yet as to whether this will be available in the US market. Although, we’re not counting on it. You’re best be if you’re interested to get this netbook is through the online. But that would shoot up your shipping costs.
