Intel Previews their Convertible Classmate PC 3
Aug 20th
It looks like Intel is prepping up a new version of their netbook, the Classmate PC. For its third iteration, the Intel Classmate PC 3 is getting its much needed software and hardware upgrade. Although, there’s not much to brag about the Classmate PC’s new features and specs, it still worth noting that despite its not so successful run, Intel is still trying to improve on its product.
So, what’s new with the Intel Classmate PC 3? Words on the streets say that it will now come with the Atom Processor, an 8.9-inch (1024×600) LCD screen, an SD card slot, USB ports and SSD.
Now for the most interesting part, the Classmate PC 3 will now be sporting a convertible look, so I guess we can pretty much call it now as the Classmate PC 3 “Tablet PC netbook?”

Asus to launch $900 Eee PC with more high end Netbooks to come
Aug 20th
When it comes about the budget of Asus Eee PCs, many people seem to feel it somewhat higher. Now Asus has decided not to think about public budgets and has added a $900 Eee PC in its line-up. This may be an utter consideration to many people but according to PC Pro News Asus has started manufacturing $900 S101 Eee PCs for its users.
The new S101 Eee PC will be featured with 64GB SSD and will be powered by Intel 1.6GHz Atom processor, which is also powering the 901 and 1000 Eee PC. Just like MacBook Air, having 64GB SSD and Intel 1.6GHz Atom Processor, the all new S101 Eee PC is being expected to reach the same performance.
The S101 will come with a 10.2 inch TFT screen, which is supposed to be very much battery saving. This Eee PC is also expected to be lighter than other Asus Netbooks. This product will be having a 945GME chipset Motherboard, with combination of SSD Drives of 32 GB, 64 GB and even 120GB with Dual-Core Atom Processors as per the user’s budget.
This was unveiled by Jerry Shen, President of Asus, with a price range of $699 for 32 GB and $899 for 64 GB. It may seem interesting to people as this was revealed at the marketing campaign of Apple’s MacBook Air.
Jerry also put an interest on releasing many high end Eee PCs by the end of September. Those Netbooks will be featured with Intel Atom Dual-Core Processors and 120GB of storage capacities.
