Amazon has started accepting pre-orders for Asus answer to the MSI Wind. The Eee PC 1000 is priced at $699.99. That’s a whooping $220 price difference from the MSI Wind. You’ve got to be a real Asus Eee PC fanatic to get the Eee PC 1000 instead of the MSI Wind. Yeah, I know the Eee PC 1000’s got a 6-cell battery and is powered by Linux. But the MSI Wind’s got an 80GB HD compared with the 40GB SSD of the Eee PC 1000. And MSI promises to deliver the 6-cell battery later on. But still, if the Eee PC is you’re thing – go out there right now and start putting in your pre-order over at Amazon. The Eee PC 1000 will be available in Fine Eboy and Pearl White colors.
